Chris Cubeta’s talents are as varied as they are impressive. A former high school mischief maker, Cubeta has settled nicely into his role as songwriter, producer and performer. He has been making music ever since as a small child he figured out how to record in his parents’ basement without the benefit of a manual or adult supervision.
Since those days, he has worked alongside international rock sensation Golden Earring (“Radar Love”), jazz great Ahmad Jamal, Bob Dylan producer Bob Johnston and blues legend John Hammond. Cubeta is an accomplished guitar player, piano player and drummer and he has written songs and played with musical luminaries such as Rick Danko, Joey Ramone and Frank Carillo.
Cubeta’s debut solo album, Sugar Sky, is an eclectic combination of influences, combining the wispy sensitivity of traditional singer/songwriters with a rock ‘n roll spirit. His live show, which is both loud and passionate includes the dynamic skills of Mark Capaldo on drums, guitarist Jeff Berner, and John Passineau on bass. Together, they form The Liars Club. Chris' numerous abilities allowed him to play nearly every instrument on every track of Sugar Sky. |
